Recruit (Schmutz)

Shirt: linen or cotton, white or off-white, drawstring neckline and cuffs, or plain standing collar and cuffs

Hose: full length, thigh high, or knee high, solid colors or striped, of linen, cotton, or wool, bias-cut, or knitted.

Shoes: cloth, canvas, or leather with a good thick sole, black or brown, dark non-plastic soles with no trademark symbols, "China Flats", "Mary Jane", "Cow-Mouths", or "T-Straps" pattern.

Upperhose: wool or leather with a sturdy lining, with a plain flap front, or a codpiece.

Overdoublet (optional, but recommended) leather or wool, "cross-over" or "front-close" style, moderately slashed.

Arming cap leather or wool, and lightly slashed.

OR

Hat modestly decorated or trimmed, with few feathers

Belt rope, leather, or braided or plain material strips, either braided or plain, with a simple fastening or metal buckle.

Cup plain wood or ceramic

Bowl or Plate plain wood

Knife and Spoon plain metal with plain wood, bone, or horn handle

Blanket or Bedroll plain wool, earth toned
